Functional Effect of Lesser Yam Symbiotic Yoghurt on Hypercholesterolemia Wistar Rats

Synbiotic lesser yam yoghurt is fermented drink made from the mixture of cow’s milk and extract which has functional benefits. Lesser contains lactic acid bacteria, acid, inulin, soluble fiber can improve lipid profile hypercholesterolemia sufferers. This study aims to determine effect intake on wistar rats. used nested randomized design with two factors, first factor was a feeding group (0,1,2,3,4 ml/day, while second time blood collection (0, week 1 2). The data obtained were analyzed by using ANAVA further test DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) level 5%. results showed that giving for 2 weeks had significant improvement. Rats 4 ml treatment experienced decrease in total serum cholesterol 48.4%, triglyceride levels 35.8% LDL 65,5% an increase HDL 150.3%. So it be concluded synbiotik benefits improving
